Matched to the dashboard in front of you

A complete 9-inch upgrade prepared for your Outback

This product suits the fifth-generation BS dashboard pictured on this page. The next Australian Outback generation arrived in 2021 with a materially different vertical-screen dashboard.

Factory side and surround cameras retained in a Subaru Outback

Camera retention prepared before dispatch

Tell us what the factory screen shows and we will match the camera connection

Choose `Reverse camera` if the original screen shows a conventional rear view. Choose `Side or surround cameras` if the vehicle can display extra exterior views as well as reverse. Both systems remain supported on the new unit.

If the vehicle has no factory camera, choose `No factory camera`. The screen works normally and a compatible aftermarket reverse camera can be added later. You do not need to identify camera voltage, plugs or adapters.

Novo Nav launcher fitted in a Subaru Outback

Premium and standard sound compatible

Keep the sound system already fitted to your Outback

The kit supports Harman Kardon amplified systems as well as the standard factory audio system. You do not need to locate the amplifier, inspect speaker badges or decide which wiring is behind the dashboard.

Subaru used several factory-radio configurations across this range. A clear photo of the existing radio lets us identify the relevant integration far more reliably than asking you to recognise plugs or technical model numbers.

Wireless Apple CarPlay fitted in a Subaru Outback

Maps, music and calls without replacing your phone

Connect wirelessly for everyday driving, then return to the Novo Nav launcher whenever you like

Use compatible navigation, music, podcast, calling and messaging apps through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Voice assistance helps with common tasks while keeping the phone itself out of your hands.

Outside phone projection, the Novo Nav launcher provides direct access to radio, Bluetooth, navigation, settings and supported Android apps.

Factory reverse camera retained in a Subaru Outback

Keep the working rear view

Select reverse and see the factory camera on the new screen

When `Reverse camera` is selected during ordering, the kit is prepared around the original camera system. The image continues to appear when reverse is engaged, with the familiar camera softness and built-in guidelines retained where the vehicle provides them.

Subaru Outback steering-wheel controls retained

Familiar controls stay familiar

Change volume and tracks from the wheel while the original vehicle functions remain accessible

Factory steering-wheel controls remain compatible for the functions fitted to the vehicle. Factory USB is retained where fitted, and supported vehicle settings remain available rather than disappearing with the original radio.

The original physical climate controls remain below the screen, so temperature, fan speed and airflow are not moved into a generic touchscreen menu.

Factory Subaru Outback dashboard before the upgrade

Matched to the radio already in the car

Upload the front of the dashboard—not plugs or dismantled parts

This range includes button-heavy factory radios, navigation units and later glossy touchscreens with different connections hidden behind them. The visible dashboard alone does not always reveal which integration is required.

Upload one straight-on photo of the full centre stack and one clear close photo of the current radio. We use those photos to confirm fitment and prepare the matching parts. There is no need to remove the radio or photograph wiring.

**Uploader copy:** Upload clear photos of your full dashboard and current radio. Subaru used several factory radios in this range, so we use your photos to match the correct parts.

Offline navigation displayed in a Subaru Outback

Useful beyond the daily commute

Download compatible maps before regional drives, campsites and remote weekends

CarPlay and Android Auto remain ideal for familiar everyday navigation. The Android head unit can also run supported mapping apps using its own GPS receiver, allowing compatible offline map areas to be prepared before leaving reception.

Offline availability, map packages and subscriptions depend on the chosen app and are not universally included.

Novo Nav launcher fitted in a Subaru Outback

A finished installation rather than a generic tablet

A flush trapezoidal screen and even panel gaps complete the upgrade

The 9-inch fascia replaces the original radio surround without relocating the horizontal centre vents or physical climate panel. The trapezoidal screen sits flush within the opening, while the Novo Nav microphone/reset holes and five touch buttons remain visible on the left.

Factory features retained

What stays compatible in your Outback

  • Harman Kardon or standard factory audio
  • Factory reverse camera when selected
  • Factory side and surround-camera views when fitted
  • Factory steering-wheel controls
  • Factory USB where fitted
  • Supported vehicle settings
  • Original physical climate controls

Outback fitment questions

Everything to check before ordering

Does this fit the newer vertical-screen dashboard?+

No. This product fits the fifth-generation BS dashboard pictured here. The next Australian generation arrived in 2021 with a different centre stack.

Do I need to know whether my Outback has Harman Kardon?+

No. Harman Kardon amplified and standard factory audio systems are supported without another checkout question.

Will the factory reverse camera still work?+

Yes. Choose `Reverse camera` and the appropriate retention connection will be prepared.

What if the car has side or surround-camera views?+

Choose `Side or surround cameras`. The existing side, surround and reverse views remain supported.

Can I add a reverse camera if none is currently fitted?+

Yes. Select `No factory camera`; the head unit works normally and a compatible camera can be added.

Will steering-wheel controls, USB and settings remain?+

Yes. Steering controls remain compatible, factory USB is retained where fitted, and supported vehicle settings remain accessible.

Why do you require dashboard and radio photos?+

Subaru used multiple radio faces and hidden connector arrangements. Photos let us match the integration without asking you to dismantle the dashboard or identify technical parts.

Is installation plug-and-play?+

The connections are prepared for the photographed setup without cutting the factory loom. Installation still involves removing trim and the original radio, fitting the components and testing before reassembly. Choose professional installation if you are not comfortable working with vehicle electronics.
